

A Bit About Me
Silas began his training at Elmhurst Ballet School at the age of 11, where he became head boy and spent his final years dancing with Birmingham Royal Ballet. After graduating, he travelled to China to dance with Suzhou Ballet Theatre, then moved to Estonia to join the Vanemuine Ballet in Tartu, where he worked as a soloist.

During his time with Vanemuine Ballet, Silas also performed with New English Ballet Theatre and taught at the Vanemuine Ballet School. He developed a passion for choreography and created several works for the company, including full length productions of Beauty and the Beast and The Snow Queen. He is now based in Canterbury as a freelance dance teacher, sharing his experience with young dancers across the area.

Silas’s stage work includes performances in The Nutcracker by Sir Peter Wright for Birmingham Royal Ballet, Prospect Before Us by Dame Ninette de Valois for the Royal Ballet, Façade by Frederick Ashton for the Royal Ballet and Romeo and Juliet by Kenneth MacMillan. He has also appeared in The Sleeping Beauty by Sir Peter Wright, Resolution by Wayne Eagling for English National Ballet, Bright Young Things by Ernst Meisner for Dutch National Ballet, Onegin by Vasily Medvedev, Swan Lake by Petr Zuska for Prague National Ballet, Raimonda by Yelena Pankova and The Nutcracker by Pär Isberg for the Royal Swedish Ballet. His credits also include a performance in the music video for James Blunt’s “I Really Want You” directed by Jim Canty.

Silas brings a blend of classical technique, international experience and creative insight to his teaching. He is passionate about helping young dancers grow in confidence and discover the joy of movement through ballet.
